Writing A Newspaper

Thank you for all your great ideas for our newspaper name. We will have a vote on which one suits us best this week in the classroom.
At home, have a look at a newspaper like The Herald or the Central Leader. What else can you see in there besides the articles? Write a comment listing all the other things that a newspaper contains.

Our Fabulous Reports

We have been working really hard to write reports on a whole variety of subjects. Our plan is publish them into our very own class newspaper. Ask your family and friends about their ideas for a great newspaper name, and then leave a comment below telling us what you think our newspaper should be called.

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to our blog for 2011. This is a place where we can share our ideas and opinions, and lots of the work we have done in our amazing classroom.
Remember the rules we have talked about when using our blog: Just use your first name and think carefully about how other people would feel about what you are writing.
I have included our wonderful mural about the life cycle of a Pohutakawa tree. Leave a comment that tells me which native plant you have chosen to study, and one interesting thing you have found out about it.

Hi Room 16 and Michelle,
We are here in London now and staying with my aunt in her lovely house. We had a wonderful time at Disneyland meeting lots of characters and going on all sorts of scary rides. My favourite one was the White Water Rafting. We got VERY wet on it. I will show you the photos when we get home.
Today we are going to visit a castle called Hampton Court. Perhaps you could look at it in the computer lab on Tuesday. Henry VIII lived there. Then tonight we are going to see a play called War Horse which is based on a book by Michael Morpurgo. I am looking forward to it. The weather is beautiful and sunny, I hope you are not too cold.
I imagine you are having a great time with Michelle, how is the weaving?
