Welcome to Term 2. This term our Rich Task question is 'How Would You Know You Were One Of Us?'and it is all about belonging and welcoming people.
The Maori word we are thinking about is Turangawaewae. We will be going to the Art Gallery, and Eden Park as part of our Rich Task.
This week I would like you to talk to your family about what belonging means and write a comment that answers this question-how do we know we belong in New Zealand?
we think you belong in new zealand because:
ReplyDeleteyou live here and you have a house here.

Hi Dryden, as you know I live & work in Asia now & I visit many different countries (see how they say hello welcome in the brackets), China (ni hao, huan ying guang ling), Hong Kong (nei hou, fun yan guang lam), Indonesia (Selamat Sejahtera, selamat datang), Singapore (Hello, welcome) & Malaysia (Selamat Sejahtera, selamat datang) being the main ones. All the people in these countries are very welcoming , they are very polite & they all share the same custom; they love to take you to eat their local food, lots & lots of it & its very spicy with lots of chillies & seafood! Luckily I like hot food & I think when I come back to NZ I will have put a lot of weight on too! See you soon, Uncle Grant.

ReplyDeleteHello everybody
ReplyDeleteOur Rich Task is awesome! The bit I like the most is that it's about welcoming. I have learnt that in Argentina a welcoming thing to do is to have 3 cups of coffee and some bread for 3 hours. Sometimes we get some tasty treats too!!
